On this job the lady who contacted me had a 65 foot tree right
next to her house and she was worried it would fall on the house,
however, she wasn't entirely sure she wanted the whole thing removed
because she did like the little bit of shade it provided. In this case
the solution was simply to top the tree removing approximately
25-30 feet of it. Using her husband and his truck for some assistance
I tied off on the tree with 100 foot rope as far up as I could reach
(about 40') and threw the line down to her husband who tied it off
on the bumper of his truck and proceeded to pull the line out
in the direction we wanted it to go away from the house. I notched
the tree about 6-10 feet below where the line was tied and instructed
him to pull forward putting as much tension on the line as he could.
At that point I cut the rest of the way through and laid the
top half of the tree out accross the yard in the exact area I was aiming for.
You can see I was even able to leave over 30 foot of the tree with the
shade she desired but she was no longer worried about it falling on the house.
In the 3rd photo you can just make out where it was cut but in such an area
as it is well masked by the surrounding branches and still maintained a
natural appearance. I also cut limbs from 4 other pine trees on her property.
This job was on a commercial property and as such, it required the work to be performed
on a weekend when the parking lot was empty. I failed to get the "Before photo's" on
this one but the long story short is that the trees in and around the parking areas
where so overgrown the branches were draping across the roofs of employees cars and
on the roof of the building.
I cut on approximately 12-14 trees in total and removed close to 30 cubic yards of debris
as you can see from the photo of the 20 yard dumpster mounded high and that didn't
include the remainder which I then removed in my truck. Dumpster rental
is my prefered method for debris removal on larger jobs simply because it saves an
an enormous amount of time and money for both myself and my customers rather
hauling it off myself, paying the dump fees and having to maintain, license, and insure
an additional commercial vehicle to handle it. Keeping overhead low is key to keeping
my costs to customers that way also.
On this job..... There isn't too much to say... except that the one was a whopper!
But as always.. a good example of how the yard looks so much better when
the trees get cleaned up and out. Definately worth doing.
A few Before & After photos.
