Misc. Jobs 2021

This is a quick collection of more recent work from various customers.

The first if from a home that was being prepared for sale and the owner hired me for a huge punch list of items he needed help with.

I completely paneled his entire garage which he had torn back to the studs to get rid of dark wood paneling that was coming apart.  I re-paneled it in white shipboard and pegboard which lightened up the whole place in addition to making a 5x6 sheet rock repair to the garage ceiling.

I also removed a 45 year old single pane aluminum sliding glass door that was 8' wide.  The door would hardly open as it had been completely worn out, finding parts to repair the wheels would have been quite difficult and it had been broken so long that the door had actually cut through the aluminum frame.. it needed to be replaced but an 8' door was going to be over $2K not including install.  As a compromise I offered to install a 6' standard door and frame it out interior and exterior and that it would be half or less the cost of a new 8' door with install.  The customer liked the idea and we found him a great deal on a new but marked down door for under $500 so with install that included the framing, insulating, and interior and exterior sheet rock/paneling and trim work it cost him less than $1100 to put this door in as opposed to the 2700 it would have cost him.

Other work competed for this customer included repairing his pool pump, several hundred feet of interior trim installed, 6 transitions in doorways, pressure washing, tree trimming, dryer vent installation, a masonry repair, and mounting a shower valve that was loose in the wall along with the accompanying sheet rock repair.  In all, it involved approximately 8 days of work and the place looked fantastic to go to sale.

For another customer I installed 240 Sq. Ft. of new vinyl plank flooring and trim, made sheet rock repairs, installed a new light fixture and installed a new bathroom vanity and mirror.  The customer insisted they would do their own painting so forgive that the pictures of the vanity show unpainted portions around the vanity where the sheet rock repairs were made.  Otherwise, it turned out beautifully.

For yet another customer I made wood rot repairs to several areas of the home of which 2 spots in the eaves of the house were severely rotted out and 5 sheets of T1-11 had rotted out on the left side of the front of the house.  I was able to repair the rot in the eaves to include a very complicated repair that stretched out almost 8 feet behind the screened room on the back of the house which when installed was never flashed properly.  And the T1-11 was replaced with hardy panel and all trim replaced with PVC boards.. this means that portion of their home will be virtually maintenance free and will never again be subject to the ravages of weather and bug infestations... it will be rot proof.

This customer contacted me about a dead tree that was hanging over his house. It had already dropped several large pieces on his roof and had obviously been dead a long time but none the less he was very concerned with hurricane season approaching that the rest of the tree might fall on his house in a good storm.  He wasn't aware but his roof had already been damaged by parts of the tree that had fallen on his house prior to him contacting me.  It had punctured clean through his shingles and under-layment and left a 4-5" hole in his roof.  Fortunately he called me.  Not only did I beat the price given by any other company of the several estimates he got, but I because I do full service home repairs and happened to have roofing patch materials on the truck, I was able to patch his roof to prevent further damage from water infiltration right there on the spot and at no extra charge.  He was very happy with the work.. unfortunately I forgot to take the after picture but the tree is gone and the roof is patched.
