In 2017, I bought this property at auction. It was built in 1916, so yeah, it was 101 years old. Its last remodel was done sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s based on the green and yellow bathroom fixtures and the gold flake Formica on the kitchen countertops. It was a truly special property. I personally felt it had a good deal of curb appeal being a cute little bungalo home of only 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom at about 1100 Sq. Ft. The real attraction was that it had a huge lot with 2 mature grapefruit trees and a 1600 Sq. Ft. 5 bay garage with office behind the house. I knew for the right buyer it would be worth its weight in gold. I won't go into any of the finances of the deal but it was a profitable endeavor for me. I did much of the work myself and below I will show you some of the before and after photos so you can see the full scope of my abilities and this whole house restoration.
Front of House Before:
It's amazing what the new roof, new front door, stripped and repainted front porch supports, window treatments, and a little landscaping can do for a place.
Garage Before:
Garage After:
Driveway to Garage Before:
Driveway to Garage After:Bathroom Before: Yes that is Duct-Tape holding the yellow tile together and please notice what was done with the window, the built-in shelving/cabinet, and the outdated green fixtures.
Bathroom After: Window replaced with glass bock that is flush with the wall so water will sheet straight down and not sit on the ledge, new floor tile, tub and shower tile, new fixtures (toilet and sink), proper linen closet installed, vanity mirror, lighting with exhaust fan, and paint... a night and day difference.
Living/Dining Area Before:
Living/Dinning area After: Vinyl plank flooring, window treatments, lighting, trim and paint.Kitchen Before: Antique appliances, chipped and ugly counter tops, the only good thing about this kitchen was the custom built cabinets that were in really good shape and better quality than most of modern new cabinetry... just needed to be refinished.
I have many more photos but this should give you an idea. In all every corner of this property and its structures were made new to include roofs, AC, electrical, plumbing which included a tankless water heater, flooring, paint inside and out, landscaping, etc.. nothing was untouched.
